Chad Fisk Gon Gins
Senior Architect

Chad is a senior architect at MMA. With 15+ years of experience, his focus is concentrated on solving complex challenges with innovative design solutions that perform for his clients’ goals.

Through a collaborative and passionate approach, his leadership inspires others to question, understand, and realize the potential in new ideas and challenge conventional norms for how we live, work, and play. In this way, he is enabled by his surroundings to teach and mentor others. Chad is always willing to stop what he’s doing to immediately help solve a problem.

Prior to joining MMA, Chad has enjoyed a career working in multiple cities across the country for some of the most nationally recognized firms. He has built a breadth of knowledge in commercial, residential, affordable housing, and mixed-use development typologies. This includes the design and realization of projects for Fortune 500 companies in retail, office workplace, and urban planning design. As an advocate for social justice, Chad has worked extensively for state sponsored affordable housing projects across the United States, elevating their quality in markets that have historically ignored the value of design. In doing so, he has experience helping clients navigate the design and performance requirements for state funded financing programs such as the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC).

Chad also drives improvements to MMA’s design and documentation practices, with a focus on implementing BIM workflows and standards. He works to create smarter, more automated design processes to improve design capabilities. His passion for continuing the pursuit of technology improvements is founded on the belief that automation can lead to higher employee satisfaction and long-term project cost savings.

Chad holds a Masters degree with honors in architecture from Washington University in Saint Louis and a Bachelors of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland College Park. While not at work, Chad serves as a member of the Grand Haven Historic District Conservation Committee. He enjoys skiing with his family, biking, camping, and all of the outdoor activities west Michigan has to offer.
