The land—marked by mature trees, sandy glacial terrain, and long views across the water—has always held the potential for something more. The design seeks to amplify those qualities. Drawing from regional vernacular forms, the architecture is shaped by light, view, and use—simple in concept, but carefully tuned to its setting. Rather than disappearing into the woods or making a bold modern statement, the project strikes a balance between clarity and restraint.
A series of connected volumes frames spaces for both gathering and solitude. Extended rooflines define thresholds, create shelter, and unify varied functions under one architectural language. Natural materials are selected to weather in place and deepen the structure’s connection to the land over time.
Now in development, the project sets the foundation for a lasting retreat—anchored in landscape, memory, and the evolving rhythms of family life.
