The compact footprint conceals a richly layered interior experience; a soaring shed roof set on a frame of glulam beams and steel columns unites interior and exterior zones and lends a feeling of the forest canopy to the primary living spaces.
The carport and guest suite are tucked away on the secondary facade, allowing the main rooms to face the mountain view to the north. The informality of the floorplan was key to establishing a strong relationship between the exterior and the interior, which was further underscored by a palette of natural materials.
