Breaking ground this fall, the viewing area outside our airport here in Grand Rapids is a hidden gem being reinvented. For years parents have brought curious children and aviation enthusiasts have enjoyed their lunch hour watching planes come and go at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport from this hidden area just beyond the runway. Starting this fall a new park and pavilion will welcome the community to this unique experience.
The design of the new airport pavilion and park by MMA will be displayed as a model and renderings as part of West Michigan Design Week at the UICA. You’re invited to this one week only sneak preview of the project through Sunday, April 17.
