Mathison | Mathison Architects is seeking an Architectural Designer with 2–4 years of experience to join our team.

The Role

An Architectural Designer at Mathison | Mathison Architects works across the full range of the design process, from early concept through construction. They develop Revit models and construction documents, support design presentations and consultant coordination, and engage directly with clients and builders. With a clear understanding of scope, responsibilities, and resources, they approach each project with ownership, curiosity, and attention to detail. This is a position for someone who takes the craft of architecture seriously and wants broad, hands-on experience in a design-focused studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate Revit models and construction drawings
  • Assist with design development, visualization, and presentations
  • Support project documentation and consultant coordination
  • Participate in client meetings and design discussions
  • Assist with code research, permitting, and AHJ coordination
  • Support construction administration and project delivery

Qualifications

Required

  • 2–4 years of experience in an architecture firm
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Enscape or similar visualization tools
  • Familiarity with the construction process and documentation standards
  • Comfortable initiating verbal and phone communication with clients, consultants, builders, and others outside the office; able to engage directly and confidently without defaulting to email
  • Alignment with Mathison | Mathison Architects’ mission and values
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a creative, iterative design process
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to take ownership of their work

Preferred

  • On the path to architectural licensure
  • Experience with Rhino and / or SketchUp
  • Familiarity with custom residential construction
  • Experience in a high-performing design office
  • Exposure to complex commercial or institutional projects

The Role

A Project Manager at Mathison | Mathison Architects leads the delivery of beautiful, functional, safe, and sustainable projects from concept through construction. They ensure each project meets design, budget, and schedule goals while guiding the team, coordinating consultants, and maintaining strong client relationships. With a clear understanding of scope, responsibilities, and resources, they drive projects forward with ownership, creativity, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from concept through construction, guiding design, schedule, and team coordination.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and managing project expectations.
  • Manage project budgets and align design progress with internal fee and schedule goals.
  • Coordinate consultants, code and zoning requirements, and approvals with authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Guide development of design presentations, drawings, and construction documentation.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, design-focused studio culture.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture required, with 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Strong design and graphic skills; proficient in Revit, 3D modeling, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam
  • Solid technical knowledge of architectural practice, construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to manage multiple projects and teams
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a creative, iterative design process
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to take ownership and co-create meaningful projects
